The Gaza government’s media office denied a claim by Peace Board envoy Nicolay Mladenov that 602 aid trucks entered the enclave the day before, saying only 207 trucks crossed into Gaza, including 79 carrying humanitarian aid, Anadolu reports.
Mladenov, the Peace Board’s top representative for Gaza, said Thursday at the US company social media X that “602 trucks entered Gaza with essential supplies for families who have been waiting too long”.
“This is what the scaled approach looks like and should become a daily basis, not an exception,” he added.
In response, Gaza’s media office said in a statement that Mladenov’s figures were “false, inaccurate and lacked credibility”.
“Current figures for April 9 confirm that only 207 trucks entered the Gaza Strip, including 79 aid trucks,” the office said, noting that the remaining trucks carried commercial goods for private companies.
The office said the number of trucks entering the enclave “does not meet the level of humanitarian response required and in no way reflects the type of large-scale access claimed by Mladenov.” She added that Israel’s implementation of the humanitarian protocol under the ceasefire agreement has not exceeded 38 percent of what was agreed.
“Distortion of the facts cannot hide the scale of the disaster, nor does it absolve any party of its legal and humanitarian responsibilities,” the statement said, calling for international intervention to save civilians in the enclave.
According to the Gaza media office, the humanitarian protocol of the ceasefire agreement of signed in October stipulates the entry of 600 aid trucks into the enclave daily, including 50 fuel trucks.
Israeli forces have committed daily violations of the ceasefire in effect since October 10, 2025, which have killed 736 people and injured 2,035 Palestinians by March 18, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Israel launched a war in Gaza on October 2023, killing more than 72,000 Palestinians, injuring around 172,000 others and destroying around 90 percent of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure.
