Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced that the negotiations between the US and Iran have ended with an agreement.
He has said that the two sides have agreed on the immediate cessation of military operations.
“After intensive negotiations, we are pleased to announce that a peace agreement has been reached between the United States and Iran. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. The official signing ceremony will take place on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland”, he said.
Sherif also thanked Turkey for its contributions to the agreement.
“We thank the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict. Also, we express our deepest gratitude to the honorable leadership of the State of Qatar, our partner in this mediation effort, for their support in reaching this agreement. Moreover, I especially thank the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Arabia Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey for their extraordinary contributions in this matter.”
US President Donald Trump declared that the peace agreement with Iran was complete and that the Strait of Hormuz would be opened, with the immediate lifting of the US naval blockade.
In his statement, Trump said: “The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is complete. Congratulations to everyone! I hereby authorize the unrestricted opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the immediate lifting of the US naval blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow,” said Trump./TRT/
