Prime Minister Rama spoke in his podcast “Flasim” about the latest developments within the Mountain Package, emphasizing a new strategic project for the north of the country.
This is the “Gateway to the Alps”, which according to the Prime Minister foresees a massive investment of 100 million euros, in co-financing with the European Investment Bank, with the aim of further developing mountain tourism and improving infrastructure in the areas He emphasized that the project aims to better connect the northern areas with each other and with the rest of the country, through the improvement of roads, transport, water pipes and waste water management, as well as interventions in urban development and the restoration of historical heritage. Also, according to Rama, an important element of the project is the preservation of intact natural areas, guaranteeing sustainable development.
note, which I believe is worth it, because in these weeks, in these months, there is talk about the Mountain Package. Of course, when I say talk, I mean not only what we say to inform the public and, above all, to inform those who look at it from outside Albania and want to invest their savings in the land of their ancestors or in the reconstruction of an old house of their grandparents in the mountains, but also what is said by many who, like always and for everything, it deforms, it deviates and so on. But this is not the content of this note, but it is what is added to the Mountain Package as a project called ‘Porta e Alpe’, which constitutes a direct intervention with a massive investment of 100 million euros, co-financed with the European Investment Bank, for the further development of tourism, with a focus on mountain tourism.
It is a project that we have been working on for a long time, which aims to better connect the northern areas with each other and with the rest of the country, obviously creating easy and sustainable access throughout the year. It includes the improvement of road and transport infrastructure, includes investments in water supply and waste water management, as well as interventions in urban development and the restoration of that rich historical heritage that also exists in the northern area. Meanwhile, care could not be left out of the project to ensure, to guarantee all those wonderful parts of nature that must remain untouched”, elaborated Rama.
However, the experience so far shows that not everything has gone the way Rama has conceived or advocated.
The word is out, there is no more talk about the “100 villages”, announced with great fanfare almost ten years ago, where the first implementation was Nivica in the heights of Kurveles in Tepelen.
So far there is no balance, no indication from the government of how this project went and what was achieved on the ground. /tesheshi.com/
