After 23 illegal garages built near the prison on the lands of Trepça Sh.A in North Mitrovica were demolished today, the mayor of this municipality, Milan Radojević, came to the scene, reports Mitropol.

He stated that no one had informed him about the demolition, even though since yesterday “Mitropol” exclusively reported that yesterday the one-month ultimatum that Trepça had given to the squatters for the release of properties for today’s demolition.

“The police are taking over the executive power and are behaving like a municipality, assuming the role of bailiff, while also ensuring the demolition of these buildings”, speculated Radojević, who seems not to know the law of the Republic of Kosovo on public properties.

All this, warns Radojević, shows that it is moving towards the extinction of the special municipality of Mitrovica North.

He added that the jurists of the North Mitrovica municipality will take further steps after today’s demolitions.

We recall that the demolition warning was sent by the company “Trepça” to the users of the garages in February of this year.
