Bayern Munich has decided not to activate the purchase option for Nicolas Jackson, paving the way for the striker’s return to Chelsea at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old has failed to fully convince the leaders of the Bavarian club, despite a balance of 10 goals and 4 assists in 29 appearances in all competitions. His form has been considered below the expectations set by the German club.

The decision has also been confirmed by sporting director Max Eberl, who has hinted that the deal will not turn into a permanent transfer.

Jackson is expected to return to Chelsea in the summer, where he will decide on his future on the eve of the new market./04 Online
