Arsenal are back at the top of the Premier League, at least temporarily

Arsenal beat Newcastle United 1-0 in the Premier League, reviving their title hopes after more than 20 years of waiting.

The decisive goal came at the Emirates when Eberechi Eze produced a beautiful left-footed strike from Kai Havertz, sending the ball into the top corner of the goal.

Arsenal started the game under pressure, with Eze giving an early warning. with a long-range shot.

Newcastle tried to respond through Sandro Tonali, who tested goalkeeper David Raya with a powerful strike from 30 yards.

However, the match took a turn for the Gunners when Eze was injured minutes into the second half, adding to the worries for manager Mikel Arteta, especially with the Champions League semi-final looming.

Next, Gabriel Martinelli tried to close the game but his shot was blocked by Sven Botman.

Newcastle had good chances late on with Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa but couldn’t equalise. Dan Burn also missed a clear chance with a header.

With this win, Arsenal create a three-point lead at the top of the table and remain firmly in the title race, while Newcastle continue a poor run of form that has taken them towards mid-table.
