China launches Pakistan’s PRSC-EO3 satellite into orbit

China has successfully launched a Pakistani Earth observation satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern China’s Shanxi province, Anadolu reports.

As state media Xinhua reported, the satellite, named PRSC-EO3, was launched into space by a Long March-6 rocket at 20:15 (1215 GMT). According to official reports, it successfully entered the planned orbit.

This launch represents the 640th mission of the Long March rocket series, a key component of China’s expanding space program.

The PRSC-EO3 satellite is expected to support Pakistan’s capabilities in Earth observation, including natural resource monitoring, disaster management and environmental change.

Meanwhile, the Space Commission and Upper Atmospheric Research of Pakistan (SUPARCO) described the launch of the indigenous EO-3 satellite as an important achievement in Pakistan’s efforts towards technological self-sufficiency, noting that it will improve capacities in urban planning, disaster management, food security and environmental monitoring.

According to the Pakistan military, the satellite is also expected to contribute to building an integrated Earth observation system that supports development priorities. national.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the efforts of SUPARCO scientists and engineers and acknowledged China’s continued support in advancing Pakistan’s space program.
