Vandal attacks against a belief based on purity: of mind, spirit and body

A serious and disturbing incident occurred in the German city of Memmingen, in which the target of the attack was a mosque belonging to the Turkish community.

Unknown individuals desecrated a religious building by sprinkling it with suspected animal blood and leaving a pig’s head at the entrance.

According to information from Kempten-based Schwaben police said the attackers threw balloons filled with a liquid resembling animal blood into the mosque building. In addition, a pig’s head was placed in front of the entrance, and also attached to a crescent on the wall of the building, which makes this act even more provocative and symbolically offensive.

The incident happened on Friday, May 1, in the early hours of the morning. Due to the possible extremist background of the case, the investigation was immediately taken over by the Department of State Security.

The police called on citizens to come forward if they noticed any suspicious person or vehicle near the mosque on the night of the attack, as witnesses could help identify the perpetrators.

After the investigation was completed, firefighters and Memmingen city administration employees went to the ground to clear the entrance area of the mosque. the mosque, which was dirty, as well as the parcel station nearby, which was also affected by this act of vandalism.

The investigation is ongoing and the police do not rule out any motive at the moment, including the possibility of a politically or religiously motivated attack.

This incident occurs while Muslim communities do not pose any problem to the German state, regardless of ethnicity. We remember that Turkish communities are early in Germany, since the 60s-70s. /tesheshi
