The Judiciary has set the date for the pronouncement of the Judgment in the court case Specialized Prosecutor k. Hashim Thaçit, Kadri Veselit, Rexhep Selimit and Jakup Krasniqit, for September 16, at 10:00.

The four leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity. They have been in custody since November 2020.

In the decision to set this date, the court said that it postponed the date due to the large volume of evidence.

“In the order to set the date, the Court explained that the time needed for the hearings had been extended in accordance with the Regulation, due to the large volume of evidence received and the complexity of the process court, and that this extension is justified by the need to make a reasoned, comprehensive and fair assessment of the documentation of the case”, the announcement states.

Preliminarily, the final date by which the decision was expected was July 20.

The closing statements in the case were held in February this year.
