A coordinated operation of the Kosovo Correctional Service has prevented the introduction of illegal items into the Dubrava Correctional Center.
During the action, six mobile phones and about 480 grams of suspected substance were seized, while the case is already being handled by the Kosovo Police.
According to the Kosovo Correctional Service (SKK), the action took place following information provided by the Correctional Intelligence Unit, in cooperation with the Security Department of the Dubrava Correctional Center and other security institutions.
“The action was carried out following the information provided by the Correctional Intelligence Unit (NJIK), which, in cooperation with the Security Department of the Dubrava Correctional Center and other security institutions, conducted a planned raid, which was successful,” says the SCK announcement.
During during the raid, the correctional officers found and seized six mobile phones and about 480 grams of suspected substance.
The Kosovo Police was also notified about the case, which undertook procedural actions and seized the found materials. Meanwhile, the KSK has launched internal investigations to clarify all the circumstances of the case.
“The Kosovo Correctional Service remains committed to fighting smuggling and strengthening security in all correctional institutions”, says the end of the KSK announcement.
