The head of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has announced that one of the main points where no agreement was reached in the talks with the head of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, was the issue of the country’s president.
After the meeting with Kurti, Abdixhiku said that in a possible political agreement the LDK has asked for the right to propose the candidate for president, but this has not been achieved agreement.
“It is the issue of the president. LDK hoped that the president would be proposed by LDK, then the names would be discussed. At this point there was no agreement”, said Abdixhiku.
The head of LDK emphasized that the offer that, according to him, was made to the party in December is not acceptable, assessing that it does not provide dignified representation for LDK in a possible government.
“The offer of LDK to take only, deputy minister, is not enough and it is not dignified. If you want LDK, then it should be represented. The Prime Minister belongs to LVV, the only representation is a proposal, not a blank proposal, and the president becomes the whole of Kosovo,” he said. disagreements about the institutional balance and the way of representation in state institutions continue to remain an obstacle to reaching an agreement between the LDK and the Vetëvendosje Movement.
