Arsenal have reportedly turned their attention to a new target as Vinicius Junior signed a new six-year contract with Real Madrid – as the Londoners now face competition from Manchester United.

Despite being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, Vini Jr will continue to play for Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid next season. The 26-year-old signed a lucrative six-year deal with Madrid, ending Mikel Arteta’s hopes of signing him.

However, Andrea Berta and Arteta have wasted no time in the market, as the Premier League club have already sent scouts to Perth, Australia to monitor the highly sought-after striker’s pre-season performances.

As reported by The Sun, Arsenal are ready to compete with Manchester United for Inter striker Pio Esposito.

The 21-year-old, who represents Italy at international level, is reported to have received very positive reviews from Arsenal and Manchester United scouts. The north Londoners are believed to have been monitoring his progress for several months as they look to add competition to current strikers Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz.

Esposito reportedly fits the profile Arsenal and Arteta are looking for. The Italian is 1.91 meters tall and is also known for his tireless work on the pitch.

Manchester United, meanwhile, will not be in a rush to make an offer, as their activity in the market hinges on the possible departure of Joshua Zirkzee.

Inter consider the Italian “untouchable”, but The Sun reports that the Serie A giants could be willing to sell the striker for around 73 million pounds.

The footballer is not expected to officially ask to leave or force the club to sell him, although he is said to be interested in a move to the Premier League in the future.

Despite interest from England, Esposito, who scored 11 goals in 50 appearances last season, is expected to renew his contract with Inter this summer, which is likely to increase his price even further.

Speaking of Sky Italia on August 3, the striker stated that he is happy at San Siro.

“Last year we exceeded expectations”, he told Sky Sport Italia. “I came from Serie B and I’m happy with the way my first season at Inter went.

“I’m very calm [about the renewal], I’m happy here at Inter, it’s something my agent will talk to the club about without any problem.

“The objective is to never be satisfied, never stop and always try to improve, both in terms of statistics and as a footballer in generally”.
