According to the latest data from the GlobalPetrolPrices portal as of October 20, 2025, gasoline prices in Europe vary greatly, with large differences between countries, which is the result of different taxes, distribution costs and other economic factors.
The range of prices in European countries varies from only €0.66 per liter in Belarus to €1.94 in The Netherlands.
The highest prices in Western Europe
The most expensive petrol in Europe is currently in the Netherlands, where the price per liter is an incredible €1.94. Denmark comes next with a price of €1.92 and Switzerland with €1.83 per liter. Norway is also among the leaders with a price of €1.76 per liter of petrol. Western European countries, in general, register prices ranging from €1.55 to €1.73 per liter, which is significantly higher than in the eastern and southern parts of the continent.
More favorable prices in the Balkans and Eastern Europe region
On the other hand, gasoline prices in the countries of the Balkans and Southeastern Europe turned out to be more favorable. In Croatia, the price of gasoline is €1.43 per liter, while in Bosnia and Herzegovina it is slightly lower, at €1.19 per liter. Montenegro also records favorable prices at €1.39 per liter of petrol. Although the prices are somewhat more favorable compared to the rest of Europe, they still reflect the specific economic and market conditions of these countries.
At the bottom of the list of gasoline prices in Europe are Belarus and Russia, where prices are much lower than in the rest of the continent.
