After the victory over England, Scaloni: We still haven’t realized what we have done

Argentina has secured a place in the final of the 2026 World Cup, after defeating England 2-1 in the semi-final held in Atlanta.

With this victory, the defending champions booked their second consecutive appearance in the World Cup final. On Sunday, they will face Spain at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in the fight for the trophy.

After the match, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni expressed his pride in his team’s success.

“I am very happy about this. The Argentina shirt deserves to be sacrificed for every last drop of sweat. It is impossible to describe what I feel at this moment, especially for the people who have the opportunity to celebrate something so big”, declared Scaloni.

He added that the footballers have not yet fully absorbed the importance of this success, but the attention is already focused on the decisive challenge.

“We have not yet understood what we have done. We will try to win the title for the second time”, he added.

Argentina will try to defend the title won four years ago, while in Sunday’s final, which starts at 21:00, will face Spain.
