Gerg Delawie – US Ambassador in Kosova

Pristina – Association of Serb-majority municipalities is in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.

This is how the US Ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, has understood the legal interpretation of the Constitutional Court for the Association.

Ambassador Delawie explains that the Court has given specific instructions on how the government could draft the statute of the Association, so that the same is in accordance with the Constitution.

“I hear that people are saying that the Court has said that this idea was not in accordance with the Constitution. But if you read carefully you could see that the Court states: (a) such a body could be established, and (b) this is how you create it in order to be consistent with the Constitution of Kosovo “.

Ambassador Delawie, has among other things, also talked about the coming elections in the country, which are scheduled for 2018. He also spoke about the Kosovo MPs arrests and insisted that any state official, that is indicted for corruption, should be removed from the position, at least until the judicial process is completed.
