Colombian President Gustavo Petro compared Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to a Nazi after Ben-Gvir shared footage on his social media account showing Israeli security forces mistreating activists of the Sumud Global Forum, reports Anadolu.

Petro made the statement on the US-based company X’s social media platform.

In his post, which included the images posted by Ben-Gvir, Petro stated that “Minister Ben-Gvir is acting like a complete Nazi. He treated our citizens like this because they wanted to stop the genocide in Gaza”.

Israel’s far-right Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has shared images on Company X’s social platform that show the forces Israeli security forces are abusing the activists in the port of Ashdod, where they are being held.

Film footage shows a female activist shouting “Free Palestine” as Ben-Gvir walks past, and Israeli police violently intervene, forcing her to lie on the ground.

During this time, far-right activist Ben-Gvir is heard saying “This is how it should be done”.
