Two groups in fierce conflict, known as “Capat” and “Sekiraqt”, faced each other in the initial court session related to the case that ended with the murder of Premtim Gashi, on September 1, 2024.
Due to the tensions between the parties, the entry of the seven accused into the courtroom today was made under strict security measures and with a clear separation between them.
On one side were placed the accused from the group “Capat”, while on the other side those from the “Sekiraqet” group.
The accused have refused to listen to the indictment again, stating that they are informed about its content. However, they have agreed to plead guilty.
Four accused from the “Capat” group – Korab Gashi, Valdrin Ademi, Erd Marevci and Vesel Bunjaku – have pleaded not guilty to the criminal offense of “attempted murder”.
On the other hand, the accused from the “Sekiraqt” group have not accepted responsibility for the murder of Premtim Gashi, but have admitted that they possessed weapons.
In fact, the main representative of this family, Salih Sekiraqa, expressed complaints about the indictment.
“I was attacked by 11 people…. I was attacked by them. The majority of us here in the courtroom”, declared Sekiraqa before the jury.
Meanwhile, two other accused, Dardan Marevci and Endrit Llapashtica, are still on the run.
