Prishtina – Kosovo is making good progress in the framework of its economic program. However Assembly blocking remains a concern.

Opposition actions and eventual non-adoption of the coming year’s budget are disturbing and may make potential investors lose interest for investing in Kosovo, said IMF head of mission, Jacque Miniane. He also added that country’s government cannot spend the amount of 23 million Euros for the pension schemes.

“There will be more money allocated in 2016 than in 2015, in order to meet the performance of pension law which was adopted in 2014. We have agreed that this law does not apply to damage the fiscal sustainability and strong financial system. That is why we allocated 23 million Euros for the implementation of the law. We are not aware of the exact amount for each person, because it is the government the one who deals with the certain categorizations. But we have agreed that the sum does not exceed 23 million Euros,” said Maniane.
