Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said his country has “never refused” to participate in talks in Pakistan aimed at ending the war. He added that Iran wanted “final and stable” terms to end the conflict.

In recent weeks, Pakistan has put itself at the center of efforts to broker a ceasefire to end the war, whose officials have expressed willingness to hold talks in Islamabad.

In a post on X, Araghchi said Iran’s position was being misrepresented by the media. American.

“We are deeply grateful to Pakistan for its efforts and have never refused to go to Islamabad. What we are interested in are the terms of a final and lasting END to the illegal war that has been imposed on us,” he wrote.

While Araghchi blames the US media for misreporting Iran’s willingness to engage in negotiations, Iranian news agencies had reported that Tehran had rejected talks with Washington. Iranian officials previously accused the US of using the talks as a ploy to launch more attacks.
