KSF towards the historic mission in Gaza – the Assembly gives the green light for participation in the international peacekeeping force

The Commission for Security and Defense Affairs has unanimously approved the decision of the Government of Kosovo to send the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) to an international stabilization mission in Gaza, as part of the peacekeeping forces.

Deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Ganimete Musliu, said that this decision proves the institutional maturity of Kosovo and the professionalism of the KSF, which according to her is ready to take responsibility even beyond the country’s borders. She emphasized that the support for this mission should be complete and without dilemmas, reports lajmi.net.

“The Kosovo Security Force, for the Kosovo soldier, is a serious, professional structure and always ready to take responsibility beyond the borders of the country. The request of the KSF to participate in operations abroad, approved by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, is in the process of consideration in the Assembly; it is an important step that shows the maturity of our state and the confidence we have built in our capacities protection…”, Musliu stated, among other things.

On the other hand, the deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Shqipe Selimi, assessed that the KSF is already ready to be a dignified partner of the United States of America and international allies in peacekeeping missions, stressing the importance of guaranteeing adequate conditions, laws and equipment for its members.

“The Kosovo Security Force that is already ready to be a partner dignified side of the United States and its allies in a peace mission in Gaza, but it is ready to be a contributor to the whole world wherever it is necessary. We as a state, as an assembly, are obliged to provide them with laws and international agreements that do not violate their integrity. We have already done this as an assembly and as a government to have dignified training we are doing it and we will continue to do it. And once again we support all those soldiers of the Kosovo Security Force who will be on a peace mission”, declared Selimi.

Deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Fadil Hadergjonaj, described this development as positive news for the country, emphasizing that participation in such international missions is proof of the professional growth of the KSF and requested full logistical and institutional support for the soldiers who will engage.

This decision is considered one of the most important steps of Kosovo in the field of international security and peace cooperation.
