The Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, and the Acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, will hold a meeting today in the Assembly of Kosovo, in an effort to reach an agreement on the constitution of state institutions.
The news was confirmed for Ekonomia Online by the spokesperson of the LDK, Besian Mustafa.
“Yes, at 18:00 in the Assembly of Kosovo”, said Mustafa.
Albin Kurti said that August 6 should find the parties prepared for the formation of institutions.
“We will try to use these days, so that we are as prepared as possible when the session for the constitution of the institutions of the 11th legislature begins. However, we cannot yet predict the result, there will be no lack of efforts. There is interest, will, and readiness, but next week we will find out everything,” he said. Kurti.
A session for the inauguration of the new legislature has been scheduled for August 6.
But before the session for the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kurti has started efforts to create an agreement between the political subjects for the formation of the country’s new institutions.
He has invited to a meeting the leaders of the political parties that have secured seats in the Assembly of Kosovo, with the aim of discussing the possibility of reaching a consensus on overcoming of the current situation and the functioning of the institutions.
The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has decided to respond positively to Kurt’s invitation and has confirmed participation in the meeting called for political leaders.
The presence of the LDK in this meeting is seen as an opportunity to develop discussions between the parties on the next steps after the constitution of the Assembly and the creation of new institutions.
Unlike the LDK, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has announced that it will not participate in the meeting invited by Kurti.
In his response to the invitation, the chairman of PDK, Bedri Hamza, has reconfirmed the position of this party that in the current circumstances it will continue to remain in the opposition.

Even the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has announced that it will not be part of the meeting called by Kurti.
AAK, just like PDK, has maintained the position that it will continue to act from the opposition, not being involved in efforts for an agreement on the formation of institutions.
Kurti’s invitation to political parties comes at a time when the session for the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo, a necessary step for the creation of new institutions of the country.
