Monday’s meeting was agreed during the talks of the parties’ presidents on June 19 at the same location that saw the presence of the EU and US Ambassadors to Macedonia.
Nikola Gruevski (VMRO-DPMNE), Zoran Zaev (SDSM), Ali Ahmeti (DUI) and Menduh Thaci (DPA) are to meet yet again on Monday at the MPs’ Club in Skopje to discuss the full implementation of the June 2 agreement set to solve the political crisis.
Monday’s meeting was agreed during the talks of the parties’ presidents on June 19 at the same location that saw the presence of the EU and US Ambassadors to Macedonia, Aivo Orav and Jess Baily respectively. The foreign representatives confirmed then their full support for the June 2 agreement, reached with the mediation of the EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn. “We the leaders of the main political parties, have agreed today to once more confirm our full commitment to the June 2 agreement and to continue the talks on its full implementation on leadership level on June 29. We also support the transparent management by the EU, with the text of this agreement, as well as with all the specific recommendations related to the systematic reforms in the area of the rule of law that will be implemented in the interest of all the citizens,” the joint press release issued after the meeting read.
