Pristina – Ministry of Education chose to not open a tender for a training. Instead, it simply accorded a contract valued at around 5 million euros with AUK.
The training that was focused on the program of European licences on computer knowledge, known as ECDL, was contracted by Ministry of Education without opening a tender. As it was said, the contract reaches a value of around 5 million euros.
The contract was given to American University in Kosovo (AUK), through negotiating means. Although AUK was the bidder with the highest price, according to ministry officials, AUK offer was in full accordance with the requirements and had much affordable conditions than other bidders.
The price for training a single teacher, as it was said, was 386.75 euros, whereas this information was confirmed by Peonare Caka, manager of the project “Teach ECDL” within AUK.
However Radio Kosova has also obtained a report of the evaluation committee on the selection of the operator for this program, where the price that stands per unit (teacher) seems to be higher for 95 Euros. As it stands in the report, AUK offering price was 481.68 euros per person, while other 5 bidders had lower prices. Thereby, UBT competed with a price of 424.2 Euros per teacher, “Don Bosko” with 299.12, APPK-359.60, “Cactus”-i 423.4 and SBASHK with 366.6 euro.
