Prishtina – “Monopolies must be fought,” Kosova Prime Minister Isa Mustafa told a cabinet meeting today.

According to Mustafa some of the existent companies have monopolized the market, where a small number of certain companies are beneficiaries of tenders, which speaks of bad practices.

“We must be cautious with investments’ delivery. Because I have the impression that certain companies have monopolized the market, they win too many tenders, whereas it does not happen with other companies. These are fully obeying the law, procurement procedures and the services that deal with such issues. However such shortlisting of the beneficiaries in tenders cannot be justified, because it could speak of bad practices. Each and every ministry must be cautious about treating equally as more private operators as possible, so everyone could benefit in tenders, but always obeying the law,” Mustafa noted.
