Prishtina – European Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn has held a meeting, during his stay in Pristina, with the leaders of all parliamentary parties.

During this meeting, the European official has demanded the intensification of dialogue between political parties on issues which relate to Kosovo’s European agenda.

Hahn has demanded full consensus and compromise for the solution of the issue of border demarcation with Montenegro and the Association of Serb Communes.

“It’s clear that without the demarcation, there’s no liberalization of visas. In order for this process to be sped up, you must work in order to strengthen the rule of law. We are ready to help, but in the end, the decision must be taken by the institutions of Kosovo. I hope that these issues will be solved”, Hahn declared.

IBNA news agency learns that opposition leaders have not accepted any solutions. They have demanded the abrogation of these agreements, which according to them, threaten the sovereignty and integrity of Kosovo.

A solution for the demarcation with Montenegro has also been offered by speaker of parliament, Kadri Veseli, but this solution has been refused by leaders of opposition parties.

The EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn has also held meetings with senior officials of the institutions of Kosovo.

Commissioner Hahn has also participated in a high level conference to discuss the role of SAA on economic development.

In this conference, Hahn said that SAA is a historical moment in the relations between Kosovo and the European Union.

“Strong and efficient institutions are important for the successful implementation of SAA. SAA is a contract that is entered between Kosovo and the EU. It is very important to have this agreement, because it offers economic development”, Hahn declared./IBNA/
