The Ministry of Defense of North Macedonia has accepted 16 candidates from the second group who have finished the first cycle of studies, who will train them as officers who will serve in the Ministry of Defense and the Macedonian Army.

From the document we have provided, respectively the decision to accept the 16 candidates, no Albanian appears. However, the Ministry of Defense does not admit that they did not respect fair representation. They say that the candidates have been evaluated according to their knowledge and according to the conditions and parameters that have been requested.

“Of the candidates accepted as future officers, there are two candidates from the ethnic Albanian background and one from the Vlach background. We want to emphasize that for certain services there were no candidates presented at all, while in August we announced that these services will be published again, for which the opinion will be announced in time. We repeat that in the Ministry and in the competition The army has a place for the best of the best and that during the admission, all the principles are respected in their entirety and without exception”, says the Ministry of Defense.

Candidates are evaluated for completed education, knowledge of the English language, for their physical preparations and in the interview. From the general list where a total of 45 people have been accepted, only one is Albanian – Jasir Ibraimi, accepted in the quartermaster services.

The final rank list does not appear in accordance with the law on military academies, which mandates respect for fair and adequate representation during competitions. Article 21 of the law on military academy says: “During the acceptance of candidates in the public competition from paragraph 1 of this article, account will be taken for fair and adequate representation of community affiliations”. In the recent changes of the VLEN cadres in the Government, this position was not affected.
