The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren has announced that it has submitted a request for the appointment of a measure of detention against a defendant for committing the criminal offense of “Destruction of voting documents”.

According to the well-founded suspicions resulting from the investigations of the law enforcement bodies so far, on June 7, during the election process for the parliamentary elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, in the voting center located in the “Sharr” school in the village Jabllanicë of Prizren, the defendant A.D., in his capacity as a member of the electoral commission, “with the aim of obstructing the regular development of the electoral process and violating the free expression of the citizens’ will, took and hid six incomplete ballots, which he had previously separated from the block of ballots”. violate the free will of citizens and the democratic functioning of institutions.
