Rugova (sword dance)

Rugova or the Warrior dance of Rugova is traditional sword dance of tribe of shepherds who settled mountainous region of modern day Albania and Kosovo in 18th century. In this dance two male dancers who wield short curved swords simulating a fight for a girl. It is named after Rugova Canyon, today in Kosovo.
