Sudan has condemned the holding of a conference in Germany without consultation with Khartoum, calling it a “colonial guardianship approach” through which Western countries aim to impose their agenda, reports Anadolu.
Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that holding the conference without consultation or coordination with Sudan and without an invitation to Khartoum reflects “disrespect for the visions presented by the Sudanese state and its institutions.” official”.
The conference is expected to open in Berlin today with the participation of Sudanese political and civil groups. It aims to raise funds for those affected by the war in Sudan and discuss ways to end the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
“This action reflects a colonial guardianship approach still practiced by some Western countries,” the Sudanese ministry said, accusing them of trying to impose their agenda and vision on “states and peoples of free”.
Sudan, it further states, “will not accept regional and international countries and organizations to meet to decide on its issues by bypassing the Sudanese government under the pretext of neutrality”, the ministry said, calling this excuse “worthless” and “a dangerous precedent in international relations”.
It warned that “equating its government and national army with a multinational criminal and terrorist militia” would harmed “the foundations of regional and international security”.
The ministry criticized the description of the war in the conference as “inaccurate and one-sided”, stressing that this “does not bring peace, but leads to further polarization”. She opposed giving Sudan representation to “small and limited groups”.
Khartoum stressed that it is committed to ending the war and remains open to “serious and fair peace initiatives” that include consultation and coordination with the government and “respect Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.
Sudan has been embroiled in conflict since April 2023 between the army and the RSF over integration disputes. in the military, a war that has killed tens of thousands of people, displaced an estimated 13 million people and pushed parts of the country into starvation, in one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
