In the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, thousands of people took to the streets to express support for the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, who was detained by the US through a military intervention, reports Anadolu.

In the center of the city of Caracas, thousands of people held a protest under the name “The Great March for Venezuela”, to condemn the military operation that the US carried out after midnight on Saturday, during which President Maduro and his wife were kidnapped. Cilia Flores.

Maduro supporters, holding placards against US military intervention and the detention of their president, chanted slogans such as: “Venezuela is resisting with determination,” “We want (Maduro) back,” “Bring back our working-class president,” “Sovereignty is not negotiable,” and “We are always loyal to Maduro.”

Speaking to Venezuelan media, a protester said: “We demand respect for our sovereignty and the return of our president Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores”.

Protests in support of Maduro also took place outside Venezuela, in several Latin American countries such as Cuba and Colombia, as well as in European countries such as Spain.

On the other hand, protests were also held in various countries of the world by Venezuelan opposition and right-wing groups that celebrated the intervention of USA.
