Trepça wins the dramatic match in Peja, qualifies for the grand final

Trepça is the first playoff finalist in the Kosovo Super League in basketball.

The team from Mitrovica secured the grand final on Sunday night with a 103:96 victory over Peja at the “Karagaçi” gym. The defending champion won the semi-final series with a score of 3:1.

Sunday’s match was interesting. The Pejan team won the first quarter with a score of 32:24. But the yellow team seemed to stop in the second quarter, which Trepça won with a full 20 point difference, 34:14.
After the first half, the score was 58:46 in favor of the “miners”.

The third quarter ended 23:22 for Peja, while the score after 30 minutes was 80:69 in favor of Trepça.

Peja, however, did not give up. 1 minute and 25 seconds before the end, it was close to only one point, 92:91.
Dardan Kapiti then made two free throws for 94:91. Peja on the other side of the field failed in the attempt for three points, while Sek Henry made a triple, 32 seconds before the end for 97:91. Thus the game ended, although other points were also scored.

Akili Vining led Trepca to victory with 24 points, four rebounds and four assists. Sek Henry scored 18 points and two rebounds, while Dardan Kapiti helped the victory with 15 points and four rebounds. Kenny Hasbrouck scored 18 points.

Captain Dardan Berisha stood out in Peja with 24 points, six rebounds and five assists. Daquan Bracey had 31 points, eight assists and four rebounds.

As expected, the game was tense. There have been numerous insults by the fans, especially towards Drilon Hajrizi. There were also clashes between the players of Peja and Hajriz.

Trepça now awaits the winner of the semi-final between Bashkimi and Bora. In that semi-final series the result is 2:2. The decisive match takes place on Wednesday night in Prizren.

Trepça over Peja won the first and third matches in “Minatori”. Meanwhile, Peja won the previous match in front of her fans.

Peja qualified in the semifinals by eliminating Golden Eagle Yllin in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Trepça, as the first of the regular season, started the playoffs from the semi-finals.
