Jonathan Pollard claims: Israel, war plan against Turkey and Egypt!

Jonathan Pollard, a former Israeli-American spy, has caused a backlash after suggesting in a podcast for the Arutz Sheva media that Israel could enter into conflict with Egypt and Turkey in the future.

Pollard said that, after a possible conflict with Iran, Israel will have to be prepared for new wars in the region.

“I would not be sure that we will have as easy a job with the Turks as we had with the Iranians,” he said. “We have to be prepared for the next war, which will probably be against Turkey and Egypt. The storm is coming.”

He also warned that Israel should not allow the Turkish-backed transitional government in Syria to retake territories in the south held by Israeli forces, arguing that would mean “the Turks would be on the border”.

Pollard spent 30 years in prison in the United States after being convicted of espionage. for Israel in 1984, and after his release in 2015, he moved to Israel and obtained citizenship.

Since then, he is said to have been politically close to Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir and has publicly supported hardline positions, including controversial calls for Palestine. /square
