Why do you feel tired after 15:00, this is what happens to the body

A doctor has explained that the fatigue that many people experience at noon, known as the “3pm slump”, may be related to the way the body manages energy and blood sugar levels.

According to him, this condition often appears after lunch and is accompanied by feelings of fatigue, loss of concentration, irritability and cravings for sweet or fast foods. Many people report that this happens several times a week, and it also affects productivity during the day.

He explains that foods high in sugar provide a quick energy boost, but then cause an immediate drop in energy, creating a cycle where the body craves sweets again. Also, a lunch without enough protein and fiber can worsen this feeling.

When the blood sugar level fluctuates, symptoms such as mental fatigue, difficulty concentrating and “fog in the mind” may also appear, as well as mood changes.

To avoid this condition, specialists suggest a more balanced lunch with proteins and vegetables, avoiding sweets at noon, drinking water during the day and a short walk after food. Instead of sweet snacks, healthier alternatives such as nuts or fruits are recommended.

According to experts, a slight drop in energy in the afternoon is normal, but if this happens often and is accompanied by constant fatigue, it may be a sign that the body is not managing the energy level well.
