Today marks 28 years since the murder of one of the founders of the KLA in Llap and one of the founders and supporters of the logistics sector for the KLA, Ilir Konushefci.
Ilir Konushefci was born on June 20, 1969 in the village of Lluge in the municipality of Podujeva. He spent his childhood in his native village. He completed primary school in the village of Lluzhan, secondary school in Podujevë and enrolled in the High School in Ferizaj, which he did not finish because of his activities.
On May 13, 1992, Iliri, together with his friends Rexhep Uka, Selim Haziri, Naim Hyseni, Lulëzim Podvorica, Naim Haziri, Bejtush Llugaliu and Shaip Haziri, founded the illegal apolitical group with the name “Eagles”, which would be organized to oppose anyone who directly endangered the wealth and belongings of the people in Kosovo, but not neglecting the combat strategy either.
This can be seen in the oath given, which says: “I swear before the flag and before my friends that the tasks, which the group sets out, I will carry out faithfully and, if necessary, I will give my life for the realization of our ideal”.
This group, in 1993, came into contact with the LKÇK. Although there were some small differences between them regarding the way of organization, there is still a way for cooperation, because both parties thought that the liberation of Kosovo could be achieved through armed struggle. This cooperation lasted until the end of 1993 and the beginning of 1994.
In June 1996, this unit came into contact through Rrustem Mustafa – Remi, with commander Zahir Pajazit and from that time he was constantly side by side with him.
After the murder of Zahir, Hakifi and Edmond on January 31, 1997, in the village of Pestovë near Vushtrri, with at the suggestion of his friends Selim Haziri, Naim Hyseni and Naim Hazir), they go underground in an apartment in Pristina for a few days and from there they decide to move to Albania.
From that time, Iliri, in the circumstances created in Albania, changed the form of his action, but never departing from the oath given to fight to the end for the liberation of Kosovo. There he began to cooperate with Zahir’s comrades-in-arms, such as Adrian Krasniqi, with whom he was inseparable until Adrian’s death, Qerim Kelmendi, Mujë Krasniqi, Ismet Abdullahu, Murat Ajeti, etc.
In Albania, Iliri worked in the supply of weapons at the country level, a task which was very difficult. He performed this task mainly with Ardian Krasniqi, after the murder of Luan Haradinaj.
After forming a network of collaborators, Iliri and Ardiani came to Kosovo several times, with the aim of reorganizing the ranks of the KLA, as well as coordinating work with other districts, because after the murder of Zahir Pajaziti, many things were not as before.
After Zahir’s death, Iliri represented ZOLL at the Central Headquarters.
On October 16, 1997, Ardian was also killed, during an attack on the Serbian police station in Kliqina, Peja. His murder was a great loss for his comrades, for the KLA and especially for Iliri, because they, among others, were undivided comrades of the shares. After this case, Iliri is charged by his comrades with the main role of bringing weapons to Kosovo. During the entire time he worked in this position, he entered Kosovo more than thirty times, bringing all kinds of weapons, from belt weapons to anti-tank weapons. Iliri, in addition to working on the supply of weapons, also contributed greatly to bringing professional superiors into the ranks of the freedom fighters.
When it was expected that high-ranking officers for the KLA would enter through Iliri in Kosovo, when fierce offensives were being developed in Kosovo and which warned of a frontal war, then when the behavior of weapons was expected and demanded more, while he was performing his duty as always with the greatest dedication, he was killed in the early morning of May 9, 1998, where it was least expected, in an ambush organized by the extended hand of the Serbian occupier, together with the doctor Hazir Mala, while they were traveling to Bajram Curr, with a truck loaded with weapons. the ranks of the KLA wrote indelible lines in our national history, was among the founders of the KLA in Llap and is one of the founders and supporters of the logistics sector for the KLA.
