The Basic Court in Pristina has sentenced Bllagoje Spasojevic, Vladimir Tolliq to life imprisonment, while Dushan Maksimovic has been sentenced to 30 years for the terrorist attack in Banjska.
They are accused of the terrorist attack in Banjska in Zveçan on September 24, 2023, where the sergeant of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed.
The three accused are part of a group of 45 individuals, who were indicted about a year after the attack in the northern part of Kosovo, including Millan Radoicić, former vice-president of the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo, Lista Serbe, who is described in the indictment as the “head of the terrorist group”.
The court decided to separate the criminal proceedings against Spasojevic, Tollić and Maksimović, who are in custody by September 2023, while for 42 others it rejected the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo for a trial in absentia.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the accused are suspected of having, through the use of violence and heavy weapons, attempted to separate the northern part of Kosovo, in order to join Serbia, in which case policeman Bunjaku was killed, another policeman Alban Rashiti was wounded by gunfire, while policemen Çlirim Sahiti were injured. Mirsad Kryeziu and Sedat Dushi, but the lives of other policemen and the civilian population were also endangered.
