Russian Minister of Defense, Andrey Belousov, has held talks in Pyongyang with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, reports Anadolu.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that Belousov and Kim discussed the state and prospects of military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
“We have agreed with the Ministry of Defense of North Korea to establish military cooperation on a stable and long-term basis. We are ready to this year we will sign the Russia-Korea Military Cooperation Plan for the period 2027-2031,” said Belousov.
The Russian minister emphasized that it was “a great honor” for him to meet with the North Korean leader and thanked him for the “traditionally warm hospitality” to the Russian delegation in Pyongyang.
“Russian-Korean interstate relations are at a level of unprecedented. The current year promises to be just as busy in terms of bilateral contacts in a number of fields,” Belousov said.
He added that Moscow highly appreciates the decision of the North Korean leader to invite the Russian military delegation to the opening of the museum and memorial complex dedicated to the war deeds of Korean servicemen abroad.
“It is a great honor and privilege for us to participate in this historic event,” he said. ai.
