Richarlison made Tottenham Hotspur history by scoring the club’s 2,000th Premier League goal in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian striker scored just over 15 minutes from time, reacting quickly to a back-heel assist from Pape Matar Sarr and momentarily reviving Spurs’ hopes of an upset as the team were 2-0 down.

However, despite the importance of this historic moment, the Londoners failed to find an equalizer in the remaining minutes.

Tottenham Hotspur became only the sixth club to reach the 2,000 Premier League goal mark since the competition was founded in 1992.

Tottenham’s first Premier League goal was scored by Gordon Durie. in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in August 1992, while the 500th, 1,000th and 1,500th anniversary goals were scored by Les Ferdinand, Jermain Defoe and Juan Foyth.

Richarlison’s goal also continued his positive individual season as it was his 12th goal in all competitions and 11th in the Premier League, equaling his most productive season with Tottenham.

In total, the Brazilian already has 75 goals in his Premier League career.
