Turkey strongly condemned the expansion of Israel’s occupation of Lebanon, saying that this action threatens regional stability and deepens the humanitarian crisis, reports Anadolu.
In a written statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Israel is following policies similar to those seen in the second year of the “genocide” in Gaza.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the expansion of the strong occupation in Lebanon. It seems that the Netanyahu government, as well as it has done in Gaza, it aims to make the areas it occupies in Lebanon uninhabitable and force the Lebanese into permanent displacement,” the statement says.
“Through its expansionist and aggressive policies, Israel is targeting efforts for peace and stability in the region and is further worsening the humanitarian situation,” it added.
The statement called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to take steps concrete without delay to ensure that Israel stops attacks and occupation in Lebanon.
