FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Egypt coach Hossam Hassan, team manager Ibrahim Hassan and striker Mostafa Ziko.
The Egyptian Football Federation confirmed in an official statement, stating that the proceedings relate to comments made by the three individuals following Egypt’s 3-2 loss to Argentina at the 2026 World Cup.
They said they are following up on the matter and will submit the necessary answers and legal documents within the deadlines set by FIFA.
“The Egyptian Football Federation confirms its respect for FIFA’s regulations and procedures. The necessary legal answers and documents will be submitted within the established deadlines,” the statement said.
The federation also expressed its support for the individuals involved and said it would protect the interests of Egyptian football through the appropriate official channels, writes Telegraph.
EFA emphasized its commitment to the principles of fair play and respect for the organizers of the competition, while reserving the right to defend the interests of the coaching staff and players before the relevant FIFA bodies.
