A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck Davao Oriental province in the south of the Philippines today, reports Anadolu.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 67 kilometers east-southeast of Pondaguitan, offshore at 17:18 local time, the US Geological Survey (USGS) announced.

The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 111.9 kilometers. Meanwhile, there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Mindanao last week, causing widespread panic and causing extensive damage to homes, schools, hospitals and public infrastructure.​​​​​​​​
