Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated today that the US bears responsibility for the implementation of the memorandum of understanding brokered by Pakistan with Tehran, calling for a halt to Israeli attacks in Lebanon, reports Anadolu.

This came during Araghchi’s separate phone calls with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.

Araghchi and his counterparts also stressed the need to maintain diplomatic efforts to achieve stability and security in the region, the newspaper added.

US President Donald Trump declared on Sunday that a peace deal with Iran had been concluded. The agreement includes a halt to war on all fronts, including Lebanon, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to the US naval blockade of Iran.
