A container ship was fired upon by a small boat near Yemen, Britain’s maritime agency says

A container ship was fired upon by a small boat 14 nautical miles south of the coast of Yemen, the United Kingdom’s Maritime Merchant Operations Center (UKMTO) reported, reports Anadolu.

“A container ship has reported that a small boat has approached it,” the agency said on the American company’s X social network.

“The crew of the small boat opened fire on the ship and attempted to board,” she added.

Authorities are investigating the incident, the agency added.
