The German Minister of Economy will visit Turkey for talks on trade and energy

German Economy and Energy Minister Katherine Reiche will travel to Turkey this week for high-level talks on strengthening trade and energy cooperation, the ministry announced, Anadolu reports.

“Turkey is a strategically important partner for Germany,” ministry spokeswoman Susanne Ungrad told reporters in Berlin.

“The visit on Thursday and Friday will focus on partnership German-Turkish economy and energy,” she added.

Reiche is expected to attend meetings of the Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETCO) and the German-Turkish Energy Forum, both long-term platforms for deepening bilateral relations.

She will also hold direct talks with her Turkish ministerial counterparts, accompanied by around 30 business leaders from key sectors of the economy and energy.
