Albanian students are blocked at the border with Macedonia, they are not allowed to enter

A bus with Albanian students was not allowed to cross the border with North Macedonia at the customs point of Bllata in Dibër, reports A2 CNN.

The Macedonian authorities have not explained why they made this decision.

This Tuesday, Albanian students in North Macedonia will hold the next protest to demand the right to hold exams in the Albanian language. For the organization, the students met with each other in Kumanovo, Tetovo, Struga and Skopje.

Everything started from the request of the law students to give the exam in their native language, a request that even after two years has not been resolved. Their right is a constitutional right, which derives from the Ohrid agreement, but which politics is not taking care of.

Their action takes on an even deeper political meaning, raising a discussion about the dignified representation of Albanians in a country where they are a state-forming element, even at a time when the Albanians of VLEN are also in co-government.

The first student protest was held in Skopje on April 6 and ended in front of the ministry of justice, but since then no one has changed from the government to fulfill a right of Albanians that derives from the Ohrid Agreement. Their action takes on an even deeper political meaning, raising a discussion about the dignified representation of Albanians in a country where they are a state-forming element, even at a time when VLEN Albanians are also in co-governance.
