An investigation revealed the intervention of an Israeli company against 3 left-wing candidates
For years there has been talk of alleged Russian interference in the electoral processes of Western countries, of accounts that incite division and hatred, of hackers, bots, and “mud machines” built by the Kremlin to shake up Western democracies.
But what if the next front of the mixed war came from another direction? For example Tel Aviv? A joint investigation by the newspapers “Liberation” and “Haaretz” has just shed light on an attempt at digital interference during the French local elections in March.
The target? Three candidates from the “Unyielding France” movement, the far-left party led by Jean-Luc Melanchon, known for its highly critical positions on Israel and support for the Palestinian cause.
According to the revelations, an Israel-based society called “BlekKorr” has organized a targeted fraud and defamation campaign against Sebastien Delogy in Marseille, François Pikmal in Toulouse and David Giroud in Rube.
The goal was to discredit them, spread lies and influence the vote. The French agency “Vizhinym”, charged with the fight against digital fraud, spotted this activity through fake websites, fictitious accounts, photos taken with Artificial Intelligence and suspicious opening dates of profiles.
Although it was described as having a “low visibility” and without a real impact on the outcome of the elections, this campaign constitutes an alarm bell. Because if it is true that the French secret services have seen this company as the entry point of a much more complicated network.
But it is equally true that this enterprise – which in August 2025 was presented on a website that no longer opens today – was presented as a “selected society, specialized in influence, cyber security and technology for the modern age of information warfare”.
Surprisingly, this society is not even found in Israeli business registries. The political echo was not long in coming. Jean-Lyc Melenchon said on the social network X: “BlekKorr has interfered against us during the campaign for local elections. The result: thousands of messages distributed to lie and smear us. We ask the government for a law to fight foreign interference”.
And here the question arises: Why should Israel care about French local elections? The answer, however unpleasant, has a correct name: the bloody war in Gaza and the growing influence of the Arab and Muslim vote in France.
The Melenchon movement has turned the defense of the Palestinians into a banner of its own. The French authorities have not yet confirmed whether it is a matter of state intervention.
But the suspicion is reasonable, especially in light of the recent clashes between Paris and Tel Aviv, aggravated by the French stance in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza and the recognition of the state of Palestine.
It is not the first time that Israel has been accused of acts of influence in Europe. As early as 2022, a report by the European Parliament’s research service noted attempts at Israeli intervention in matters related to the conflict in the Middle East. tesheshi
