The Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV) has announced the preventive recall from the market of several batches of Aptamil 1 (830 g) and Aptamil 2 (830 g) infant formula, following a notification received through the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).

According to the notification, the alert is related to the presence of the toxin cereulide in the formula for babies produced by the company Nutricia Cuijk B.V. from the Netherlands.

“A notice of the ‘Alert notification’ category has been received through the RASFF system regarding the presence of the cereulide toxin in infant formula (milk). Based on the laboratory analyzes of the European Union authorities, some lots of Aptamil brand infant formula exceed the permitted limits for this food category”, says the announcement of the AUV.

The authorities inform that in the Kosovo market are identified only very limited quantities of these products, which were imported on 19 January 2026 by an authorized economic operator.

According to the AUV, after receiving the notification, official checks were carried out in the field and the immediate withdrawal of the products was ordered.

“The inspection was carried out on March 9 2026, in which case the products in question have been ordered to be withdrawn from the market. It has been established from the checks that the products are not for sale in the market, but are blocked in the warehouse and are currently in the disposal procedure. is considered very low and no reports or complaints from consumers have been received”, emphasizes AUV.
