Fenerbahçe is on the verge of securing the services of Mason Greenwood, after reaching an agreement with Olympique Marseille for the transfer of the English forward, according to media reports in Turkey.
Journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu reports that the two clubs have closed negotiations and agreed on all the terms of the transfer, which is expected to cost around 40 million pounds.
After several weeks of talks between the parties, the deal appears to be has entered the final stages, bringing Greenwood ever closer to a move to the giants from Istanbul.
The French media also report that the procedures are almost completed and that the 24-year-old is expected to become part of Fenerbahçe soon.
If the transfer is official, it will rank among the most expensive acquisitions in the history of the Turkish club and will be considered an important reinforcement for the attack on the eve of new season.
Manchester United will also benefit from this agreement. The English club have retained a percentage of Greenwood’s future sale, according to the clause set when the player moved to Marseille in 2024.
Greenwood joined the French club in the summer of 2024 and had a very successful spell in Ligue 1. In 81 games for Marseille, he scored 48 goals and contributed 17 assists.
