“Taking a bribe”, indictment for the guard of Dubrava

According to the notification of the Prosecution, D.Q., in the capacity of an official person, is suspected that during the period June-August 2025, in three separate cases, he indirectly accepted benefits in money from a person deprived of his liberty.

“The defendant D.Q., in the capacity of an official person, during the period June-August 2025, in three separate cases, is suspected of having accepted in indirectly benefits in money from a person deprived of his liberty, in order to act in accordance with his official duty, benefiting in an illegal manner different sums of money”, it is stated in the notice of the Prosecution.

According to the indictment, with these actions there is a well-founded suspicion that the defendant has fulfilled the elements of the criminal offense of receiving a bribe, provided for in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

The prosecutor of the case, when the indictment was filed, proposed to the court that D.Q. to be declared guilty and punished according to the law for the criminal offense charged.

In addition to the criminal penalty, the Prosecution has also requested the imposition of a complementary penalty.

“The State Prosecutor has proposed to the Court, in addition to the imposition of the criminal penalty, also the imposition of the complementary penalty ‘prohibition of exercising functions in the public administration or public service’, in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo”, it is stated in the announcement of the Prosecution.

The indictment is now expected to be examined by the competent court, which will decide on the further steps of the criminal procedure. At this stage of the procedure, the defendant is considered innocent until his guilt is proven by a final court decision.
