Iran says it shot down a US military drone over its territorial waters

Iran has announced that it has shot down an armed US military MQ-1 Predator drone over its territorial waters, Anadolu reports.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement quoted by state news agency IRNA that the unmanned aerial vehicle entered Iranian airspace in what it described as a “hostile operation” in the early hours of the day. today.

According to the statement, the drone was detected and shot down by Iran’s advanced air defense missile systems after crossing into the country’s territorial waters.

“An aggressive MQ-1 drone belonging to the US military, which entered Iranian airspace over territorial waters to carry out a hostile operation, was identified and destroyed by modern IRGC air defense missiles in this morning,” the IRGC said.

From there they warned that Iran will respond decisively to any act of aggression.
