Kosovo and Colombia have marked a new step in the deepening of bilateral relations, signing three important cooperation agreements, including the waiver of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
During an official meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, received his counterpart from Colombia, Paula Andrea Cerón Arboleda, with whom they reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement on the waiver of visas for diplomatic and official passports;
Agreement for political consultations between foreign ministries;
Memorandum of cooperation between diplomatic academies.
According to the official announcement, these agreements aim to strengthen institutional ties and advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the possibility of visa liberalization for holders of regular passports was also discussed. The Kosovar side submitted to the Colombian side an initial draft on this issue, marking a concrete step towards facilitating the movement of citizens.
Also, the parties agreed that soon the first round of political consultations will be held in Pristina, with the aim of concretizing cooperation in various sectors.
As part of the visit to Colombia, Ahmeti also held meetings with representatives of other institutions, including the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Javier Baquero, where cooperation in the field of security and defense was discussed.
Also, he met with representatives of the ministries of culture, education, sports and agriculture, where concrete opportunities for expanding cooperation were identified.
The visit to Colombia concluded a diplomatic tour in the region, during which a total of six agreements were signed, strengthening Kosovo’s presence and partnerships in Latin America.
